The Hungary-Budapest booth was a huge success at MIPIM this year again. The appealing opportunities of the capital city Budapest, the emerging locations such as Debrecen, Miskolc, Szeged and Zalaegerszeg and the informative panel discussions held at the booth raised the interest of the professional visitors and executives.

MIPIM is the world’s largest property development exhibition, where the most influential participants of the real estate sector – from development to financing, implementation and marketing – have been gathering for three decades. This year 3,100 exhibitors from 100 countries are attending the four-day exhibition, which is expected to have more than 24,000 professional visitors.

Similarly to the former years, also in 2019, professional investors and guests were welcomed by the Hungary-Budapest joint booth, through the collaboration of the Municipality of Budapest, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), and the Real Estate Development Roundtable Association (IFK). The booth is presenting the unique advantages of the Hungarian investment environment and the most important real estate projects planned or being already under construction in Budapest, Debrecen, Miskolc, Szeged and Zalaegerszeg.

Róbert Ésik, President of HIPA held a keynote speech prior to the introduction of the invited cities. In his remarks he pointed out the outstanding results in foreign direct investment, along with the excellent business environment of these Hungarian municipalities.

This is the second time Debrecen is joining MIPIM. As a result of the BMW announcement the city is becoming more and more attractive for real estate developers and investors as well. This year, Debrecen is promoting the office, hotel and serviced apartment projects and opportunities. After being awarded for the best FDI Strategy of small European cities last year, Debrecen received another four recognitions from fDi magazine in 2019. Besides being among the bests in “Education, skill and training”, “Incentives” and “Staff training and performance management”, the city received the “Editor’s choice award”, too.

MIPIM provides a great opportunity to promote Miskolc as a dynamically growing innovative centre for high-tech companies as well as BSCs. Miskolc was proud to present its region’s highest quality, A+ category, more than 10,000 squaremetres Avalon Business Center and the emblematic Avas Hotel refurbishment project in the downtown, besides the South Industrial Park and the Mechatronic Industrial Park.

Zalaegerszeg is an emerging R&D&I location of Hungary. Through the recent developments of the region, the city wishes to enter the international circulation of the automotive, logistics and ICT sectors, meanwhile sustaining its green environment. The new, state-of-the-art automotive proving ground, which will start operation in May 2019, has also been presented.

Szeged aims to fill a niche field among the countryside locations in Hungary by building on the high value added service activities, based on the talent pool of the prestigious university of science. Validating this intention, the city starts a complex office, hotel and leisure centre development neighbouring the 85 hectares Science Park Szeged. Szeged also presented the most charming residential project of southern Hungary, the Cédrus Liget, and two urban development projects, the new Swimming Arena and Liget projects as well.
