NASA made an important announcement yesterday: seven Earth-sized planets have been discovered in TRAPPIST-1 system.Newly discovered planets in TRAPPIST-1 system are only 40 light years from Earth and there might be liquid water on their surfaces. Three planets out of the seven are within a habitable zone which means that these planets have all the conditions (e.g. temperature) that allow the emerge of life on them.
According to Thomas Zurichen one of the directors of NASA’s Washington base, this latest discovery is a milestone in finding life beyond Earth.
