Construction works are planned to begin in the autumn.
According to plans, the construction of the new Great Forest stadium will be finished in two years. This Tuesday, a project company was set up to implement the reconstruction of the facility the building of which is financed by the government. The company was set up with a 1 million HUF capital and is now the property of MNV Zrt. (51%), BMSK Zrt. (39%) and the municipality of Debrecen (10%).
Mayor Lajos Kósa said that the new, 20 thousand-seat stadium would be built with 12 billion HUF. The construction works are scheduled to start in the autumn and in case of a hassle-free procurement procedure and building process, the Great Forest arena might be ready by 2013.
