Designed for working out the basis for those chemical and biological processes which could degrade pollutants, the project ended in December. The University of Debrecen is applying for more funds to be able to continue the project; this time, in cooperation with Swedish researchers.Project supervisor Prof. Dr. István Fábián said that the results were far too good to end the project after the last installment had been used. The soil remediation research group of the Swedish Umea University is also interested in joining the project. So much so that a verbal agreement for cooperation has already been made and hopefully, the parties will soon sign a contract. “We expect that the results and the experience together with our foreign relations will provide the necessary basis for launching new projects and targeted research programs.”- István Fábián said.
