Immediate measures were taken against a 45-year old homeless person who stole a Mountain Bike on the street on Monday afternoon.
The bike was chained to a No entry! traffic sign on the corner of Széchenyi and Mácsay Sándor Streets. The perpetrator cut off the chain and took the bike. Some passers-by noticed the theft, called the police and started to follow the man. They held him up when he tried to sit on the Mountain Bike but he punched one of the witnesses in the chest twice. The witness suffered light injuries. Eventually, the police caught the perpetrator and wanted to interrogate him but he refused to testify. A criminal procedure is in process against him.
