The water level of the Békás Tó is rising continuously; its renovation is to be finished soon.
A huge investment was started two years ago at the Debrecen Nagyerdő: on the one side a deep-level garage and a fog theatre, a fog screen projection were built and on the other side the open air theatre and the Békás Tó were renovated.
The lake filling was started in the middle of July and it is to be finished soon.
The fauna of the lake is transplanted to the Botanical Garden for the time being; as soon as the renovation is accomplished, all the animals will be brought back to their original habitats.
Another new feature of the park is a big playground that was built next to the lake.
