The Board of Trustees of the Gróf Tisza István Debrecen University Foundation (GTIDEA), which has maintained the University of Debrecen, held its final meeting on Monday under the leadership of György Kossa. The board served from July 1, 2021, until August 31, 2026.
During the meeting, the handover between the outgoing and incoming boards was completed. Documents, reports, minutes, resolutions and electronic files were handed over, and it was reported that by noon on Monday, all ongoing processes involving financial transactions and payments had been completed. As a result, the new leadership took over with the final bank account balance.
The appointment of the new Board of Trustees was decided by the Minister of Education and Children’s Affairs after the Senate of the University of Debrecen ranked the applications for positions on the Board of Trustees and the Supervisory Board at an extraordinary meeting on August 6, in accordance with a request from the ministry.
The new chair of the Board of Trustees is László Mátyus, professor emeritus and former dean of the University of Debrecen’s Faculty of Medicine, while Dóra Dékány, an attorney, has been appointed chair of the Supervisory Board, according to hirek.unideb.hu.
