The logistics center of Ghibli Ltd. was inaugurated on Wednesday in the southern industrial zone of Debrecen. With the addition of the new 22,000-square-meter hall, the company now offers more than 120,000 square meters of warehouse capacity across seven locations in Hungary, noted Zoltán Szabó, the company’s managing director, at the opening ceremony.

He said that after Budapest, Debrecen is their “second headquarters,” where they opened a 10,000-square-meter warehouse base and office center at the airport in 2022.

Zoltán Szabó also shared that, as a result of continuous growth in recent years, the company now employs more than 300 people nationwide and regularly delivers to 100 countries. They can transport their clients’ goods to any destination in the world.

They handle over 550,000 orders annually, and their clients include leading companies from the automotive, electronics, FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), and chemical industries, the managing director added.

István Herdon, CEO of Xanga Ventures Private Equity Fund Management Plc., said that the warehouse was built as an investment by Xanga Park Ltd., which is part of the Transactional and Corporate Development Private Equity Fund portfolio managed by them.

He explained that their business policy has remained unchanged for 25 years: they hand over turnkey warehouses to tenants, who can begin operations by integrating their own technologies and relying on the local skilled workforce.

Mayor László Papp of Debrecen stated that industrial development cannot be imagined without advancing logistics infrastructure. Debrecen is one of the most dynamically developing cities in the Central European region, and the southern economic zone — where Ghibli’s logistics center was built — is one of the most important economic hubs in Eastern Hungary, he added.

According to publicly available company data, Ghibli Ltd. has a registered capital of 27.5 million forints. In 2023, its net revenue nearly reached 18 billion forints, up from 11.3 billion the previous year. The company’s after-tax profit rose from 366.5 million forints in 2022 to 662.8 million forints in 2023.
