More than 100 international students attend the autumn semester of the University of Debrecen. Most of them arrived from different part of Europe through Erasmus scholarship, but there are Japanese, Korean and American students as well.
Therefore, programs organised by the International Committee of the Student Council are mostly for them. Such program is the “Eurodinner”, which gives opportunity to the students to present their countries’ traditional dishes.
Amongst the dishes of the gastronomic competition at the 8th November were the American cornflakes cake, the French quiche, and the Italian pasta; moreover some typical Hungarian dishes were presented too.
The Assessing committee, which were made up of Erasmus coordinators, decided to give the first price to a Portuguese speciality, the second prize went to Slovakia, while the third prizewinner were the Turkish students.source: unideb.hu
