Housing problems in Aarhus: Students live in containers

Economy University

There are too many foreign university students in Aarhus, Denmark’s biggest city, which causes housing problems. The city offers a unique solution: students could rent containers to live in.

The containers are cozy and every one of them offers space for four students. Students pay the rent in every week, so if they find better places they could move out easily.

12 thousands of students are about to start their studies this September in Aarhus which might cause further housing problems.

To rent a container for a week costs 700 Danish krones.
