The final evening of the 2026 Debrecen Wine and Jazz Days is set to bring the festival’s relaxed summer atmosphere to life once again around Békás Lake in the Big Forest.
Over the past few days, the festival has filled the area with live jazz, conversations, the aroma of food and the character of Hungarian wines. With people gathering around the lake, meeting friends, discovering new flavours and listening to music together, the event has created a distinctly warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The combination of wine and jazz gives the festival its special character. Visitors can move between the different stages, stop for a glass of wine, try something to eat and simply enjoy the evening in the green surroundings of Nagyerdő. It is an experience that leaves plenty of room for spontaneous encounters and conversations, whether people arrive with friends, family or simply want to spend a few relaxed hours outdoors.
Saturday’s programme offers another full evening of music across the festival’s stages.
On the MASTER GOOD Main Stage, the Budapest Jazz Orchestra will perform at 6 p.m., followed by the Gabi Szűcs Quintet at 8 p.m. Nikolas Takács takes the stage at 10 p.m., while the late-night programme continues with áRON feat. Milán Szakonyi & The Memory Makers at midnight and Ordiman feat. Krisax at 1 a.m.
The SYNERGY Stage will feature the Salamon Tűzkő Quintet at 5:40 p.m., the Dezső Oláh Vibratone Quartet at 7:40 p.m., the Halper Quintet at 9:40 p.m., Sugárka Mundo Latino at 11:40 p.m. and Selector Emka at 12:40 a.m.
The Hungarian Jazz Association Stage will welcome Sharp5 at 5:20 p.m., Kálmán Oláh Jr. Quintet at 7:20 p.m., Trinity feat. Noémi Nagy at 9:20 p.m., the Attila Vajda Quartet at 11:20 p.m. and Savages y Suefo at 12:20 a.m.
Beyond the music, wine remains at the heart of the experience. This year, Kékfrankos has a special role at the festival, with visitors able to discover how the same grape variety can produce very different wines depending on the region, vintage and winemaking style. The festival’s wine selection also provides plenty of opportunities to discover Hungarian wineries and start conversations over a shared tasting experience.
The food is an equally important part of the evening. A wide selection of dishes is available throughout the festival area, making it easy to settle down for a longer evening of eating, drinking and listening to music.
The atmosphere becomes particularly memorable after sunset. The lights around Békás Lake, the music coming from several stages and the crowd enjoying the warm summer evening create a setting that feels both lively and intimate. This year, the organisers have also paid special attention to energy-conscious operation, using LED decorative lighting that is switched on later in the evening and battery-powered candles to help create the festival atmosphere.
The event also reflects a growing focus on sustainability. Cashless payment is available across the festival, reusable cups can be returned, and free drinking water is available at several points around the venue. The festival is also dog-friendly, while the Kids Corner offers activities for younger visitors.
More than anything, however, the Wine and Jazz Days is about people coming together. A glass of wine can become the starting point for a conversation, a concert can turn into a shared memory, and an evening by the lake can offer a chance to connect with both familiar faces and new people.
With its final concerts taking place tonight, the 2026 Debrecen Wine and Jazz Days will close with one more summer evening filled with music, flavours, lights and the easy-going atmosphere that has made the festival a special part of Debrecen’s summer.
