The movie entitled The Martian (2015) was directed by the American cult-filmmaker, Ridley Scott. The science-fiction movie – starring Matt Damon – is based on the 2011 bestseller novel of the same title by Andy Weir.
Damon stars an astronaut who is left behind on Mars after an expedition, because his colleagues are sure that he lost his life in a great Martian storm.
Speciality of the movie is that Korda Studio in the suburbs of Budapest was chosen for shooting the interior scenes of The Martian.
The movie premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
