The Debrecen Flower Carnival is preparing a special community event: on August 12, 150 potted flowers will be available for people to “adopt” at Dósa nádor Square.
According to the organisers, interested participants are welcome between 6 and 7 p.m., and the first 150 people to register can choose a flower. The plants can be taken home for a few days and must then be returned to the square on August 18.
The flowers will be handed out by participants in the “The City Dances” programme, which will hold its opening event that day. The organisers promise dancing, music and a lively atmosphere for visitors.
This year’s motto of the initiative is: “What we receive, we pass on.” The aim is to use the adopted flowers to create a decoration together for the Flower Carnival on August 18.
