National Brain Research Program (NAP) might be financed during the following four years by using 6,5 billion HuF support. NAP project was launched between 2013 and 2017 with 12 billion HuF support.National Brain Research Program will continue within the 10 billion HuF financially allocated National Excellence Program. The remaining 3.5 billion might be used for a national quantum technology program in the future.
Tenders – announced on the 14th of February – can be applied for until the 18th of April 2017. Program of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH) will be supported by the NKFI Fund.
According to József Pálinkás director of the institution, the National Brain Research Program is of strategic importance. In the new phase of the NAP project scientists and experts can focus on most distressing disease of society; depression, anxiety, epilepsy, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
