Man threatening to blow up several Debrecen buildings gets caught

Local News Police

The Nemzeti Nyomozó Iroda (“National Bureau of Investigation”) has started proceedings against a man who had threatened to blow up the Debrecen Tribunal unless a suspect was released in December, 2011.

NNI associates captured the man in Veszprém on 19 June. The 29-year-old suspect phoned the Debrecen Fire Department on 16 December, 2011 and warned them that unless a drug abuse suspect whose trial had been scheduled to that day was not released from custody, a bomb would explode in the building of the Debrecen Tribunal. The same day he threatened to blow up the railway station and the airport, too. The buildings were all evacuated but the firemen didn’t find any explosives.
