Continental will produce parts of automotive electronics at its new Debrecen site. The investment costs 32 billion HuF.With opening their new site in Debrecen Continental will create 450 new jobs in the city. Hungarian government supports the investment with 10,6 billion HuF.
According to László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, this investment will be the greatest of the past four years in Debrecen. Negotiations between Continental and the city of Debrecen about creating a new site started back in 2016.
Construction work will start in 2018, while – according to the plans – production will start at the new Debrecen site in 2019.
