According to their announcement, Vodafone has come to an agreement with Liberty Global about buying its Hungarian, Czech, Romanian and German subsidiaries. It means a 18,4 billion euros bargain.After singing the contracts, Vodafone will have 25 percent in the mobile market in Hungary, 24 percent in the fixed broadband market and 19 percent in the commercial telecommunications market.
UPC is the greatest satellite provider in Hungary reaching 1,8 million households in the country (43 percent of all households).
The transaction is to be approved by the European Commission. The process may end in mid-2019.
