The foundation stone has been laid for an automotive electronic component manufacturing plant. The new unit of the German company Continental will cover a 7,000 square metres area and create 450 new jobs in the city.
Continental AG has more than 243 thousand employees worldwide and recorded a global revenue of 44 billion euros in 2017. The tyre producer is ranked among the top 5 TIER-1 suppliers.
Continental came to Hungary in 1991 which was followed by a continuous expansion. The German concern operates in Makó, Nyíregyháza, Szeged and Veszprém. The Debrecen factory will be Continentalʼs seventh unit in Hungary.
