In the next ten years, half of the municipal bus fleet can be changed to electric buses with low carbon emission, with financial assistance from the Government and the European Union.
The above was announced by László Palkovics, Minister for Innovation and Technology, at the launch of the Green Bus Programme open for cities of county rank, which was held in Zalaegerszeg on 14 August 2020. On behalf of the City of Debrecen, Mayor László Papp and Vice Mayor Ákos Balázs participated in the event. The agreement on the purchase of at least 12 electric buses has already been signed.
