A Flourish of Spring at the Zoo

Culture Local News
A well-known wild flowering plant native throughout temperate Europe, the common cowslip (Primula veris) is found from mid-March to late May in Hungary – primarily in oak forests, but also in other formations, forest edges or grasslands from forest clear-cuts.

An herbaceous perennial with a height of 20 to 30 cm, it has a rosette of leaves and tall flower stalks bearing deep yellow nodding flowers. Both sepals and petals are fused, forming tubular corollas. In folk medicine, common cowslips have been used to treat various ailments such as migraines, arthralgia and insomnia.
Come check out these vivid beauties in the rockery past the zoo entrance after we reopen.
