Those who keep too many plants and pieces of furniture there may get fines of up to 60.000 HUF. The checks take place without any preliminary announcement. There are no warnings; the authorities impose fines right away on the spot. The reason for the stringency is that the plants may hamper the rescue works in case a fire breaks out.
