Rumors claiming that the Chinese battery manufacturer CATL is suspending the investment in its second factory unit in Debrecen are false, the company announced on Thursday.
In their statement, they wrote that CATL headquarters experts are currently reviewing the technology and investment schedule of the planned second cell factory in Debrecen with the goal of implementing the most advanced and energy-efficient solutions at their Hungarian site.
However, the realization of the second phase has never been in doubt. Meanwhile, the company is focusing on completing the first factory unit in Debrecen to start cell production as soon as possible, they indicated.
