The report was received by the police on November 29, 2021, that someone broke into a family house under construction in Debrecen. The perpetrator broke the patio door glass and mainly power tools, but also stole two unopened air conditioners from the building.
Detectives who saw a lot on the spot were also surprised. The perpetrator thoroughly smeared the muddy footprints left on the living room floor tile and patio with a mop, trusting that they would not be found that way. He was wrong. In March 2022, police identified the 51-year-old local resident who had made a detailed confession during his interrogation of the suspect.
It is suspected that the man may be linked to the commission of several similar crimes, the investigation of which will be a further part of the proceedings.
The Criminal Department of the Debrecen Police Headquarters opened an investigation against him on the basis of a well-founded suspicion of theft.
