Pumla Nene visits the university

University

Pumla Nene, the 1st Secretary of the South African Embassy of Hungary visited the University of Debrecen.

The South African delegation was hosted by Ákos Pintér, general vice rector of the university. Currently, the university has 24 South African students, who study at Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Informatics, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Engineering and at the Faculty of Science and Technology. Eleven of them are supported by the Hungarian government, in the confines of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship.

A meeting was held, where the possibilities of Stipendium Hungaricum was discussed, and the delegation has met with the South African students of the university.

In the 2017/2018 academic year, the University of Debrecen has more than 5000 foreign students from 109 countries.
