The Student Government of the University of Debrecen is launching a new series of programs called the Football Festival. The opening stop of the event will be held on February 22 and 23 with the participation of renowned Hungarian football professionals.
There are several things to say about the event. On the one hand, the Buzánszky football cup won the “Leisure Sports Event of the Year” award at the Athlete of the Year Gala in January, and this year the Kozma Mihály Futsal Cup is celebrating a round anniversary – the ball has started its journey in this series 10 years ago.
At the event, a captain’s roundtable discussion on the possible future of Hungarian football will be held, with the participation of former federal captains János Csank and Imre Gellei, as well as József Mucha, the former head of the football team. The events will be hosted by the TVK Council Hall and the 104th speaker of the Böszörményi út campus. The organizers are waiting for everyone who is interested in football to attend the performance.
The ball will bounce on Wednesday: the grand finals of the Jenő Buzánszky Football University Cup and the Mihály Kozma Futsal Cup will be held at DESOK starting at 2 p.m. In the autumn semester, 1,500 students from the 108 small-field football teams of the University of Debrecen competed for the championship title, which will be hosted in three divisions on Wednesday.
