The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will introduce a new organisational structure from 1 March that will strengthen its ability to implement its expanding mandate and respond to future opportunities.
The new structure ensures that the Agency maintains a high standard of implementation of EU policies and support to EU organisations and national authorities and is ready to deliver on its strategic goals including accommodating its expanding mandate, its growth in size and its digital and data transformation.
The renewed organisation provides a clearer structure that reflects the Agency’s mandate for external stakeholders and strengthens governance as well as stakeholder engagement and collaboration. It also improves data and IT integration, reinforces scientific committee support, and further enhances assistance to industry and small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs).
Dr. Sharon McGuinness, Executive Director of ECHA, said:
“This new structure strengthens ECHA’s ability to deliver its expanding mandate and key priorities through closer collaboration with our partners and stakeholders, supporting the EU’s goals for chemical safety and the protection of health and the environment.
ECHA’s ability to adapt and remain future‑ready will be achieved with this new structure and from the dedication of our people as well as our continued investment in organisational excellence.”
ECHA, as we establish our new organisation, will maintain its focus and ensure stable operations and continuous services for partners and stakeholders.
