Food Day 2025 returns to Debrecen – Hungary’s biggest international feast is back

Local News University

After last year’s unforgettable celebration, International Food Day returns to Debrecen on April 30th, 2025 — and this year promises to be even bigger, better, and more delicious!

Held at the spacious Events’ Square by the Nagyerdei Stadion, this beloved event is no longer “just” a student gathering — it’s a full-scale multicultural gastronomic festival. With more than 20,000 portions of food served last year and thousands of attendees from across Hungary, Food Day has become one of the country’s tastiest and most vibrant annual events.

  • Expect a feast for all senses:
Dishes from all corners of the world,
     Colorful cultural performances,
     Live music and stage shows,
And an after-party that keeps the energy alive until 4 a.m.!

Whether you’re a local or a Stipendium Hungaricum student from Budapest, Pécs, Szeged, or beyond, this event is made for you. Dedicated buses will bring participants from across Hungary, so no one misses out on the fun. International students are encouraged to check with their local coordinators for transportation details.

The event is open to the public and showcases the incredible diversity of Hungary’s international community. And while the food is reason enough to attend, it’s the spirit of connection and celebration that keeps people coming back year after year.

If you’d like to be more than just a guest, organizers are still accepting sign-ups for both teams preparing food and performers sharing music, dance, and culture:

Event Location: Nagyerdei Stadion Events’ Square, Debrecen

So mark your calendars, gather your friends, and come hungry. Food Day 2025 is more than a festival — it’s a celebration of global community, unity, and flavor.
