In 2025, the “Three Princes, Three Princesses” Foundation once again launched its national certification program, which aims to recognize workplaces and service providers where a family-friendly approach is not just a slogan but an integral part of daily operations. With joy and pride, it was announced that Zoo Debrecen – the result of many years of consistent work – has been awarded the “Family-Friendly Place” certification.
The award was presented to the organization’s representatives on May 31, 2025, in recognition of their visitor-centered, inclusive, child- and parent-friendly approach, which is evident in all aspects of the park’s operation – from toddler-friendly infrastructure and family events to supporting employees’ family lives.
This recognition is especially meaningful for Zoo Debrecen, as the park underwent a strict evaluation process, which assessed the services developed for families, programs available for children, a family-friendly workplace environment, and the institution’s commitment to social responsibility.
To meet the highest family-friendly standards and receive the certification, Zoo Debrecen had to provide flexible working hours, a supportive work atmosphere, and family benefits to its staff, in addition to offering a visitor experience particularly appealing to families.
The certificate was awarded by Foundation co-chair Fruzsina Skrabski, national network director Erzsébet Pálfay, and managing director Zsuzsanna Deák, who highlighted that the Debrecen Zoo serves as a regional example, where closeness to nature, experiential learning, and quality family time truly go hand in hand. The park is an ideal place for families, where guests can enjoy the magic of nature with attentive services and a comfortable environment.
This recognition is a confirmation and also a motivation for Zoo Debrecen to continue being a place where every generation can feel at home. The certification will also open new opportunities for families in the future, further strengthening the park’s commitment to a family-oriented approach.
