Department of Solid State Physics has analyzed the rain that had fallen last Wednesday.

Scientists of the department have photographed the sand with electro-microscopes. The reason of the strange color of the rain turned out from the analysis: raindrops contained sand from the Sahara.

Chemical analyses were also made, which revealed that the reddish color of the rain was caused by its iron-oxide content.
