Mary and Max (2009), directed by Adam Elliot, is a fantastic animation comedy-drama. The movie is about the friendship of Mary and Max, who are pen pals and meet only at the very end of the story. Mary is an introvert eight-year-old little girl from Melbourne, while Max is a forty-four years old, obese man living in New York City.
The film was premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and won the Annecy Cristal of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the prize of the Best Animated Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in 2009.
