The project is delayed by the unsuccessfulness of the former tenders.
Debrecen is trying for the sixth time to purchase vehicles for tram 2. Six applicants showed up for the tender until the deadline. The results are to be announced on 1 July, and if the losers won’t attack the decision or the Public Procurement Arbitration won’t accede to their complaint, the contract might be written on 29 July. Because the former unsuccessful tenders caused much delay, the supplier will have to pay 4 thousand EUR/vehicle penalty in case of 1-10 days delay, 12 thousand EUR/vehicle in case of 11-20 days delay, 24 thousand EUR/vehicle in case of over 20 days delay.
