On the 9th of November there was a pasta bridge building competition at the University of Debrecen, where the most stable pasta construction could hold 498,8 kg.
Competitors had to use maximum 1 kg of pasta to build a stable and durable miniature bridge. Teams from Debrecen, Szeged, Nyíregyháza and Cluj-Napoca applied for the competition, which was organized for both secondary school and university students by the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Engineering.
The team of Cluj-Napoca, Romania has won the competition, while local Szimonetta Kovács received the second place, whose pasta bridge could hold 407 kg.
Popularity of pasta building competitions is proven by the fact that there will be a world championship in Budapest next May.
