At the city assembly on Thursday, a decision was made that the local government of Debrecen will initiate the transfer of its 40 percent stake in Nagyerdei Stadion Rekonstrukációs Kft. To the state free of charge, and thus the city would own 50 percent of the stadium -reported Mayor László Papp.
The transaction can be realized if the Hungarian State acquires the share of BMSK Investment, Technical Development, Sports Management Public Utilities Zrt., Which currently has 39 percent ownership, and transfers it to the municipality of Debrecen free of charge together with its 1 percent ownership. The city’s share will thus increase from 10 percent to 50 percent.
The remaining 50 percent remains in the possession of the Count Tisza István Foundation for the University of Debrecen.
