In view of the approach of the winter season and the increasing cooling, the Debrecen Public Cemetery drew attention to the winterization of the grave monuments, the Hamuszóro Shrine, and the cemetery’s water network.
Winterization of grave monuments:
The vases are covered even before the onset of frost, thus preventing damage caused by frost.
Shutting off and winterizing the cemetery water network:
The irrigation water network in the area of the Debrecen Cemeteries will be closed on 14.11.2022. Depending on the weather, the condition for restarting the water service is that the night and day temperatures rise to +5°C.
The irrigation water network is expected to be reopened on March 15, 2023, visitors to the cemetery will be informed about this in advance.
Winterization of the Ashtray Shrine:
The Hamuszóro Shrine was also winterized, during which the system was drained. The scattering of ashes is expected to be suspended until the middle or end of March. The condition for restarting the system is that the night and day temperatures rise to +5 °C, the public cemetery announced on its website.
