The University of Debrecen is one of the six universities where the new, five-year science-environment teaching department, also known as the z-department, will start in September 2022. The new training delivers science knowledge to students in an integrated way.
Teacher training is a particularly important area for the University of Debrecen, as teachers educate the next generations, the students of the future. That is why we supported the integrated science teacher training, the launch of the science and environment teacher department.
– Péter Forisek, associate professor, told hirek.unideb.hu. The director of teacher education at the University of Debrecen added that the new lecturers will also be able to play an important role in increasing the popularity of university courses in engineering, science, informatics and mathematics.
UD is one of the six universities in the country (Pécs, Szeged, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Eger, Budapest-ELTE, Szombathely-ELTE). professionals.
Its aim is to get to know and understand environmental awareness and nature through practice-oriented, problem-solving techniques. Students equipped with both traditional and visual communication tools will have a secure job in public education, but they will also be seriously competitive in other areas of the labor market. Due to the versatility of the program, students with a human or real background are welcome to apply and apply accordingly.
The institution will train integrated science teachers at the Faculty of Science and Technology. According to Dean Ferenc Kun, the new teacher training can remedy an important problem.
We often find that in the lower grades of primary school there are still enthusiastic students 7-8. They are losing their motivation for science subjects – biology, physics and chemistry – in this class, in which the increasingly serious high school admission procedures and the growing body of knowledge play a role. The integrated science teacher will have the opportunity to show students the physical laws, biological, chemical phenomena and processes of the world around us in their context. We hope that it may be interesting for those who have already been interested in other careers, but this way we can lure them back to the natural sciences,
– explained Dean Ferenc Kun.
A science environment teacher can teach science subjects in the upper secondary school or in the first two years of high school.
The new pedagogical program breaks with the previous form of education, it will focus on experimentation and illustrative education. Accordingly, the educators participating in the training will be able to acquire the necessary methodological and communication knowledge in addition to a stable scientific, biological, physical and chemical foundation. The latter will play a key role in education, as creativity and problem-solving will play a particularly important role in integrated science,
– said University Professor Tibor Magura, Dean Advisor for Talent Development.
According to the plans, the new teacher training will start in seven cities: Budapest, Debrecen, Eger, Nyíregyháza, Pécs, Szeged and Szombathely from September 2022.
