A velodrome, an arena for track cycling is to be built in Debrecen.

Velodromes will be built in three cities in Hungary: one in Budapest, one in Debrecen and one in a West Hungarian city.

A press conference was held on 28 June 2018 at the Nagyerdei Stadium, where Máriusz Révész, Government Commissioner said that the goal of the government was to make Hungary one of the most viable European states by 2020, and that would require investments that contribute to a more active and healthier lifestyle.
