Hungary’s most delicious event, the MBH Bank Gourmet Festival, will be held at its usual time and location—the last weekend of May at Millenáris. Due to popular demand, the festival will once again be a four-day event instead of three, welcoming gastronomy lovers from May 22 to 25.
This year’s central theme is “Favorites”. Hungary’s top culinary professionals will bring their favorite ingredients, producers, dishes, and, along with them, their personal stories. With over seventy restaurants, patisseries, and culinary enterprises participating, the unique festival menu will offer something for everyone, whether you’re craving traditional Hungarian classics, trendy international creations, or new-wave desserts.
The wallet-friendly price category introduced last year remains, meaning most exhibitors will offer tastings for under 2,500 HUF. The Gourmet drink menu will once again feature the best Hungarian and international sparkling wines, wines, cocktails, beers, and pálinkas, while the selection of non-alcoholic beverages continues to expand.
“To help promote the ‘Favorites’ theme, we’re joined this year by three ambassadors,” said Richárd Nemes, the festival’s chief organizer.
-
Fruzsina Farkas, known as The Green Sommelier, is doing pioneering work in the still-emerging field of non-alcoholic and fermented drinks in Hungary—her kombucha is not to be missed.
-
Szabolcs Szabadfi, better known as Szabi the Baker, has played a key role in bringing traditional sourdough baking to a broader audience in recent years. At the festival, he’ll once again present his top-quality pizzas.
-
Szilárd Tóth, head chef of SALT, one of the country’s most exciting and acclaimed restaurants—recognized with both a Michelin star and a Green Star—is a key figure in contemporary Hungarian fine dining. He works mainly with local and organic ingredients, and at this year’s festival, he’ll showcase aged Mangalica pork as part of his offering.
“For us, the Gourmet ambassadors are always role models,” added Nemes. “They represent values that the festival also strives for—sustainability, health consciousness, quality ingredients, and clean food. These values go far beyond gastronomy; they’re also important cultural and social causes.”
Beyond the endless open-air tasting promenade, the MBH Bank Gourmet Festival also offers free programs and tastings for those eager to learn and be entertained. At the Gourmet Academy, visitors can enjoy sessions with chefs who hold one, two, or even three Michelin stars. On Sunday, the focus shifts to families, with workshops and surprises for children.
Sunday is once again Family Day—visitors under 18 can enter free of charge on this day.
Ticket prices remain unchanged from last year:
-
Advance daily ticket: 6,500 HUF
-
Four-day pass (extended from three days): 12,900 HUF

“The Gourmet Festival proves year after year that gastronomy is not only about flavors—it’s also about community, innovation, and tradition,” said István Kutas, Chief Communications Officer at MBH Bank. “These are values MBH Bank deeply believes in, which is why we are proud to support the festival for the third year in a row. We believe that sharing our ‘favorites’ brings people together—whether it’s through tastes, stories, or experiences. We hope this year brings unforgettable moments and new favorites for everyone—something to take home not only to your table, but also into your everyday life.”
