One Hundred and Twenty Hectares of Undergrowth Burned in Egyek

Almost one hundred and twenty hectares of undergrowth burned in the Egyek region on Sunday afternoon, the press officer of the Hajdú-Bihar disaster management directorate informed MTI.

 

According to Judit Bányai, the stubble first caught fire in an area of ​​2,000 square meters next to Rózsás street, then the fire spread to the other side of the road and quickly spread in the dry conditions.

The fire raging in the pastures, bushy and reedy areas was attended by the volunteer firefighters from Egyek, Tiszafüred, Mezőkövesd, Szolnok, Füzesabonyi and Karcag, and then they extinguished it – the press officer indicated, noting that the fire also endangered farms, no one was injured.


The follow-up work on the fire is still ongoing, added Judit Bányai.
