The police identified and arrested the man, who hit a cyclist in Hajdúböszörmény on 29 December.
According to the available information, a man was driving his car in Hajdúböszörmény from Dorogi Út towards Külső-Dorogi Út on 29 December 2017 at 16.30. He was driving his vehicle too fast, he hit a cyclist and drove away.
After the incident, the police have started to gather all the necessary information and they have managed to find out the plate number of the vehicle and also the driver.
The hit and run driver was taken to the Debrecen police station. It turned out that he was drunk.
The 55-year-old cyclist was taken into hospital by the ambulance; he suffered minor injuries.
A procedure was initiated against the 42-year-old driver on reasonable suspicion of hit and run and drunk driving.
