The supercomputer of the University of Debrecen has been extended by a huge storage space. Due to this expansion, the device is capable of storing huge amount of scientific data and digital archives.
As Miklós Nagy, director of the National Information Infrastructure Development Institute told, this improvement does not mean very much for the average student but if man thinks it over, meteorological monitoring, medical examining or even text analysis requires such a huge amount of data that could not have been processed so far. The storage and processing of CT scans is possible now, as well as that of entire libraries.
Students can also get access to the computer if their thesis or research projects require high-performance calculations.
