Prime Minister Viktor Orbán greeted pharmacists on the Day of Pharmacies on Wednesday, praising their resilience during the coronavirus epidemic.

In a letter to pharmacists and their assistants, Orbán said they had shown discipline and cooperation in meeting the challenges of the past few months. “It’s well known that sick people often turn to pharmacies for information and advice,” he said, adding that in an age of fake news on the internet and anti-vax sentiments, their services were especially valuable. In his statement released by the PM’s press chief, Orbán said maintaining medical supplies as well as guaranteeing pharmacists their professional and financial independence was a national priority.
