Last week, the number of people who went to the doctor with flu symptoms fell below ten thousand.
According to the report published by the National Center for Public Health (NNK) on Friday, between April 24 and 30, 138,200 people in the country consulted a doctor with symptoms of an acute respiratory infection, of which nine thousand people were diagnosed with a flu-like illness.
They wrote that in the 17th calendar week, the frequency of people visiting a doctor with flu symptoms increased in two counties (Komárom-Esztergom and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg), decreased in 16 administrative areas, and remained unchanged in two (Tolna and Zala) compared to the previous week.
Of the 51 samples that arrived at the NNK Laboratory, 11 were found to contain one of the influenza viruses, and eight were found to be infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Last week, 153 people were hospitalized due to serious, acute respiratory infections, 18 of whom needed intensive care, the announcement reads.
