The Kéretlen Figyelem Debreceni Nők Közéleti Egyesülete (Unsolicited Attention – Debrecen Women’s Public Association) welcomed people in need with hot food, fresh bread, pastries, and hot tea on the last Sunday of February at Petőfi Square in Debrecen.

The association has been helping disadvantaged residents of Debrecen since 2011 through donations and contributions from its members. On the day of the food distribution, a line had already formed in the square two hours before the start. Due to limited capacity, numbered tickets were handed out: distribution began at 9:00 a.m., and within five minutes 75 tickets were gone; within half an hour, more than 150 had been distributed. Around twenty people who arrived later received only bread.

The next food distribution will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

The association continues to welcome donations from individuals and businesses, primarily non-perishable food, fruit, potatoes, cooking oil, and cleaning supplies. Information about donations is available at +36 30 9841 963.
